What is hallux?

Actually, hallux valgus, also known as a bunion, is a foot deformity characterized by the inward angling of the big toe towards the other toes, which leads to the formation of a prominent bump on the inner side of the foot. This condition can cause pain, discomfort, and difficulties in finding suitable footwear. Hallux valgus is often associated with flat feet, improper footwear, and genetic factors.

What can be done with a bunion?

The basis of treatment is corrective insoles with correction for transverse flatfoot. Corrective exercises will also be very important.

In advanced cases, surgical treatment is used, after which it is also advisable to use corrective insoles to prevent a recurrence of valgus deformity.
